Hauling insect-infested firewood from home dramatically speeds up the spread of invasive insects that harm our forests. An invasive insect population
might spread a few miles on its own in a single year. But moving infested wood can spread the same pest hundreds of miles in a single day.

The Carsey family welcomes you
to a Downeast camping experience. Our campground
is on the "quiet side" of Mount Desert Island and only a 10 minute
walk from Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse. Each of the 120 shady
or wooded sites has a Fire-ring and Picnic Table.
Skateboards NOT Permitted in the Campground!
Harbor Seals are common visitors to our harbors. There's great viewing for Astronomers Bring Your Telescope! By Appointment: Swim Lessons by Former U.S. Swimming Coach and Swim School Owner. One lesson free, additional lessons private: $15 each.Five total lessons $50. Group lessons $7 each swimmer, minimum 3 swimmers. can be arranged during your stay. Contact the Office for details. |
